What you get paid for

In my industry (tech) right now some people including my colleagues have a certain anxiety in them about their job safety.

This is mainly due to the increasing prevalence of AI tools and services.

In times like these it’s good to remind ourselves what we really get paid for at our jobs.

And it’s always a combination of Effort X Skill, if what we do right now gets automated then our efforts shifts towards what cannot be automated or overseeing those automations.

However this is not to mean that the number of jobs required at the current job titles will remain the same.

The meta skill that would be the most valuable is adaptability.
